Information on COVID-19 And Fresh Start Services Impacts
Greetings from Fresh Start!
May 18, 2020, Governor Baker initiated the four phase reopening plan for Massachusetts.
According to the plan as it is now, it will be quite some time before a resumption of normal
activities can resume. This means changes all around us, from our favorite beach hangout to our
go-to restaurant for special occasions.
In addition, all businesses are required to fill out a COVID Control Plan, which includes a
checklist demonstrating business compliance with the current orders.
I have posted the COVID Control Plan on the Fresh Start website here.
A copy of the plan can also be emailed to you at your request.
The pandemic has forced some long-reaching temporary changes to business practice as well as
some permanent operations alterations which are outlined below.
Shopping, Deliveries, and Other Contact-Free Errands
I am able to shop, pickup, and deliver groceries and other items as needed to clients in Dennis,
Harwich, Yarmouth, Chatham, Brewster, and Orleans areas. Deliveries will be contact-less
unless otherwise specified (i.e. the delivery is to a person who needs assistance bringing items in
etc. These situations will be discussed case-by-case and an individual routine will be established
that allows for as much social distancing and reduced contact as possible.)
Same day deliveries/errands must be in by noon, and I am available for deliveries Monday
through Saturday. I wear a mask and social distance while shopping. You can call or text 774-
212-7968 to give me a list and your preferred place of purchase, or send an email to
customerservice@freshstartoncapecod.com Alternatively, you can place an order with your
chosen local business such as Dennis Public Market, Rory’s, and others and simply have me do
the pickup and delivery. Note: If you’re looking for a hot food delivery, be sure to contact me
first so I know what time to scoop up your food and get it to your home as quickly as possible.
Other errands I have performed in the past and am happy to do include picking up and dropping
off laundry to/from your chosen laundry service, picking up mail, returning a library book, etc.
Pet Visits
I cannot conduct pet visits while someone is in the home; however I am able to do modified pet
visits. Luckily, this is a great time of year weather-wise because the majority of dog visits will be
spent outdoors! Visits will be conducted with an eye toward minimizing surface contact as much
as possible so time inside the home will be limited. I will wear a mask and gloves while in the
home to ensure I don’t inadvertently bring in Covid-19. Be aware that both cats and dogs can
catch COVID, however current research indicates that it is more likely that cats will both catch it
and display symptoms. Human to feline transmission has been documented. However, it is
important to note that it is MUCH more likely that a human will transmit the virus to a pet rather
than vice versa as our viral load far exceeds theirs.
You can help streamline your pets’ visits by leaving leashes, litter box tools, food and feeding
supplies, and other pet paraphernalia close by and easy to find.
Other Services
House cleanings are no longer offered – as most people are home it is impossible to social
distance and cleaning exposes us both to an increased risk of exposure as I spend an extended
amount of time in the home. I have several clients I am assisting who are
elderly/immuno-compromised/vulnerable and as such I must take extraordinary precautions for
their sake. I know it’s an inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. I love my clients
very much and would be devastated if I inadvertently transmitted the virus to them.
Transports are not currently offered as it is impossible to social distance in a small vehicle.
This is a tough time for us here on Cape Cod and across the world – but it won’t last forever and
we Cape Codders are tough. We’ll get through this together! If you have any questions about a
service you may need please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Thank you, stay safe and healthy, and be kind to each other. Cape Codders stick together!

Fresh Start Services Sanitation Plan
I have filled out the Massachusetts Covid-19 control plan which outlines current cleaning,
sanitation, and best practices for working during the pandemic.
You can find the Control Plan Here.
In the event that I become ill, symptomatic, or test positive for Covid-19 I will immediately
reach out to all clients who are scheduled or who I have had direct or indirect contact with within
the previous two weeks via text, email, or by social media post to notify them, and cease
operations immediately. Resumption of operations will happen when medically cleared.!
